The Ministry of Agriculture will ensure the uninterrupted operation of agricultural sector in the context of the coronavirus pandemic

Jambulat Khatuov, the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture, held a meeting of operating headquarters devoted to agricultural products and food. The meeting was addressed to such issues as functioning of the agricultural sector and stability of the food market of Russia.

One of the key topics of the meeting was a trouble-free operation in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. According to Jambulat Khatuov, the current situation in the regions of the country is stable, but there remain some risks of infecting employees in slaughter, processing and sorting shops.

“The country regions have already gained a positive experience of work in the conditions of spread of the coronavirus infection. This allowed to maintain the growth rate of production, including that of livestock. Today, the regional governing agencies in agribusiness need to organize a continuous monitoring of the situation, strengthen the prevention measures, and prepare for work in the event of the infection site occurrence in the companies", - Jambulat Khatuov said.

The First Deputy Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia maintains the continuous contacts with the regions, and it is ready to render the necessary assistance.
