FSBI “Center of Agricultural Analytics” prepared a relevant overview of the dairy market for December 2019. According to preliminary estimates, dairy production in Russia could reach about 31 mln tones in 2019, which was 400,000 tones more than in 2018. As the overview reports, the growth could be noted annually since 2016, when the indicator lowered against a level of 2014-2015.

In 2019, export of dairy products (codes of FEACN 0401–06) (export to countries of the EEU notwithstanding) grew against the level of 2018. In 2019, export of those products amounted to USD 80.08 mln against USD 70.97 mln in 2018. Export of cheese and cottage cheese showed the biggest growth to amount to USD 26.88 mln, while in 2018 the indicator amounted to USD 19.34 mln only.
According to estimates of FSBI “Center of Agricultural Analytics”, the main importer of Russian dairy products is still Ukraine that increased its import by another USD 3.1 mln in 2019 against the level of 2018 - up to USD 33.21 mln. Therein, a significant growth of cheese and cottage cheese deliveries from Russia to Ukraine in 2019 should be noted: they amounted to USD 15.48 mln against USD 9.45 mln in 2018.
